The California Republican Assembly recently held its 2016 Annual Presidential Endorsing Convention at the Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel, 7675 Crescent Ave., in Buena Park, attended by more than 250 CRA members from California.
The highlight of the convention was the presence of well-liked political powerhouse California Republican Party Chairman former Senator Jim Brulte. As usual he inspired everyone with his powerful talk sharing his knowledge of election strategies and wins.
Despite his busy schedule, Brulte takes time to answer e-mails.
Welcoming those in attendance were CRA President Tom Hudson, O.C. Supervisor Michelle Steel and OCGOP Chair Fred Whitaker.
Featured speakers included Shawn Steel, Mat Staver and Rebecca Friedrichs.
Dignitaries in attendance included U.S. Congressman Ed Royce, Chairman of House Foreign Affairs Committee and Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Chairman of the House of Subcommittee on Eurasian and emerging Threats.
Royce and Rohrabacher covered topics on National Security, terrorism and the Middle East, giving encouraging talks and sharing their knowledge and expertise in their specialty areas.
CRA endorsed Ted Cruz for president for he alone believes in the power of millions of courageous conservatives rising up to reignite the promise of America.
An afterhours private Ted Cruz party was hosted at the hotel by Dana Rohrabacher and attended by supporters of Cruz, where an impromptu guitar selection and vocal was performed by the host.
Asian women who have been elected to political office include Young Kim, Ling Ling Chang and Janet Nguyen. Also elected from Orange County are Orange County Supervisor Michelle Steel and Assemblyman Bill Brough, who said he credits CRA support for his difficult election victory in 2014.
Another shoo-in for Senate is former Buena Park resident John Moorlach, who has been a popular and well-liked Orange County Supervisor. Moorlach offered a prayer for California during the Sunday Breakfast.
As one of two Orange County Filipino CRA members, you can find me during an election year, writing and mailing thousands of fliers and leaflets to thousands of people I know and personally walking to businesses handing out fliers.
CRA members, along with many other hardworking people helped tipped the scale in 2014, when the Republicans became the majority in Sacramento.
CRA members share conservative values, of which the country needs.
CRA was chartered in 1934 and is the oldest grassroots organization in California Republican Politics, long being considered the “Gold Standard” for Republican Bonafide.
CRA currently has 50 chapters in California and was referred to as, “The conscience of the Republican Party,” by President Ronald Reagan in 1976.
CRA is credited with helping Ronald Reagan win his landslide victory in California because of the energetic work of CRA members, as members tirelessly walked precincts and called upon people; they are still doing that today.
The CRA host committee consisted of Convention Chairman Pat Garcia and staff, with Vice President Craig Alexander being the candidate coordinator.
Amazing to me was that every meeting and meal were accompanied with prayer for our country, with grateful prayers to God.
I was so inspired by the prayerful ambience of the convention, that it brought tears to my eyes. I’m grateful that my late husband Bill Stoddard registered our whole family, including our four children as Republicans.
Bill reiterated the love of God and country. I feel so blessed knowing I belong to the Republican party. This was one of the most elegant and knowledgeable conventions I have ever attended.
The political “Stars” were so down to earth and approachable, and the ladies were gorgeous in their attire and everyone had such gratitude that we are all gathered together under God’s guidance.
I’m hopeful all of my people, the Filipinos, will see that CRA is what we need today to stir our voting conscience.
I invite everyone to study what CRA stands for and then vote for the right candidate to represent our values of PRO-Life, no same sex marriage, Love of God , Love of Country and Love of family, and in doing so, we might get back the Reagan Era when things were not as chaotic.
